What we do

The Alzheimer's Disease Association (ADA) was formed in 1990 as a result of growing concern for the needs of people with dementia and their families. ADA is a voluntary welfare organization and is made up of caregivers, professionals and all who are interested in dementia.

The ADA provides the following services:

- Day care for the elderly with dementia at our New Horizon Centres :
  Bukit Batok, Jurong Point, Tampines and Toa Payoh

- Transportation service to attend the New Horizon Centres

- Physiotherapy and occupational therapy

- Caregiver Support Service

- Information and Referral

- Support Group for carers in English, Mandarin and Malay

- Counselling for carers

- Training programmes on dementia care

- Public education

- Resource library

- Volunteer programme

- Attachment for nursing, medical and social work students at New Horizon Centres for practical training

Our Objectives

  1. To increase the quality and quantity of care services for the elderly with dementia

  2. To increase the number of services for the elderly with dementia by being a model for other organisations to follow and learn from

  3. To increase families' abilities to cope with and continue caring for their elderly with dementia

  4. To manage and support Centres for the elderly with dementia

  5. To increase opportunities for the teaching and training of psychogeriatrics for personnel caring for the elderly
